Here is my first ever attempt at a hat. Abby was asleep so I used a new model! I have also enclosed pics of another cross over top outfit that I did using this Raggedy Ann and Andy material that I love.

New years resolution
My new years resolution is to sew things for the girls before I buy. Lets see how good I can be. I decided Abby needed some new PJ's but have not quite got there yet because I got side tracked by another outfit I had already cut out. I thought while the overlocker was black I might as well use it! I have never made something that frustrated me as much as this little cross over top, try as I might I could not finish the side edges so that they were inside each other and with just a little hole to slipstitch closed. So I cheated and did a normal side seam and overlocked it in very closely. It does the job but man am I annoyed it beat me. A friend has already completed this pattern numerous times so I am off to her place with the next one to get lessons on that step! I will not let the darn thing beat me. Anyway as you can see my model (although very cute lol) was not too accommodating so I only got a rear view and a very close up to show it off thus far. I am impressed by how well it fitted and am in the middle of cutting out two more sets in various fabrics and I have just cut out the hat to sew matching the first outfit. Now after all that here are the photos!

Light up the city
This year I decided that Rebecca was old enough to enjoy a trip to the city for the light up in the town square. So along with a friend Lisa and her son Hayden off we set last Friday night. It was a great night complete with a sing a long in the car on the way in which had the kids giggling non stop. I think I would laugh at my singing too! We had heaps of fun including dinner in the Myer Centre after the lights and home late where Rebecca literally fell into bed and I think she was asleep before her head hit the pillow. I just love Christmas.
Lots to do at Christmas

'Tis the season to be jolly!
I decided this year to get in early and make the girls their Christmas outifts since this year I had to do two! I managed to get Rebecca to model hers although I was competing with "A Bugs Life" on telly so she is not looking at me..Abby was asleep but here is a picture of her completed set as well which I am sure will be as cute as I imagine it is going to be. They are going to wear them to our first Christmas party of the season which is actually tomorrow.
Looking forward to doing some more things now these are done. I do want to applique a tshirt to match the skirt and the bloomers, the lack of plain white tshirts in Abby's size however is a little frustrating. They were plentiful in Best and Less when of course I had no use for them.
Enjoy!!
Green green grass of home.
Okay, so I have grass envy. With the massive water restrictions here in SE Qld I was missing sitting on a lush lawn so we took the opportunity to do it as much as we could whilst visiting Nana in good old New Zealand. Abby learnt to sit up on the grass and was loving picking daisies. Here are a few snap shots.

Can you believe
Abby is already 6.5 months old. Where has the time gone. She is almost sitting up and saying bubba. Still trying to work on the Mumma but I am sure as always Dadda will come first! She is the proud owner of two teeth with a couple more eagerly biding their time to pop through. Rebecca loves her and they get on so well. Here are a couple of pics from her first day to now.
Embroidery madness.
I love love love my new embroidery machine, did I already say that. Okay so I might be a bit scared of it still but I am getting there. I have had a few lessons and can now do towels, handtowels, facecloths and tshirts, even learnt how I can do pants. Can't wait until I get some more dollars after Xmas and going to start getting into the gigahoop and all the other accessories to make caps etc. Great for gifts.
This is a sample of what I have been up to. Some tshirts for a new cousin and some embellished jeans for my Abby.

Recent projects
Okay so I am obsessed by my embroidery machine but it is making it easy to think of gifts for friends new babies etc.
Here are some faceclothes that have gone to UK, a present that is destined for NZ and the Kaitlin towel is for a party later this month that Rebecca is attending. Not bad for a first go I thought.
Also a skirt that was meant to look like one i had seen at pumpkin patch and I decided not to make it so full. Well it has turned out okay for Rebecca around the house, she loves it and it just fits. Back to the drawing board on this one, I love the colours though.

More sewing
Firstly Rebecca's new tiered twirly skirt. I like the colour combination some might not but it went well and looks great in real life. Next is a corduroy skirt I actually made her some months ago. It only took a day and I really liked it. I might try to make them some of these for next winter in the cord I have got. Would be nice for summer too in a lighter print. Lastly the pinafore I have made for Abby, a little big now but will be good for our trip to NZ. Thanks for looking. Watch this spot for the Dora pj's. Have made the shorts just need to finish the top.

New dress
Here is the dress that I intend for Rebecca to wear when Abby gets christened in September. I just have to finish the hem and slipstitch the bodice down around the zip. Oh my goodness am I sick of gathering after finishing this one! I might try a dress without gathering to do for a change. I don't know how people can finish something like this in one day. I did it in three nights by the time I do the hem. But then I suppose I do have a toddler and a four month old to run around after. Oh and excuse the singlet that my model has on, a bit cold to model without.
I have also included a piccie of Abby taken this morning. We had a bit of fun putting her in the washing basket with some props!
